The Pines at Glens Falls Named One of
State’s
Five Star Nursing Homes
GLENS FALLS, NY – May 11, 2009 – The Pines at
Glens Falls Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, of 170 Warren
Street, in Glens Falls, was recently named as one of New York’s best
nursing homes, based on research into the facility’s health
inspection reports, nurse staffing and individual quality measures,
by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
This ranking comes at
a time when the facility celebrates its one year anniversary as “The
Pines at Glens Falls” anticipates a multi-million dollar renovation
of its physical structure. “Our staff is thrilled to receive this
type of recognition for what many in our area have known for years,”
stated Lloyd Cote, the facility’s administrator, upon learning of
the ranking on the website “Nursing Home Compare. “Our staff, from
our director of nurses, right on down the line go out of their way
to not only provide the best quality care, but also the best quality
of service to our residents and their families,” added Cote. “We’ve
received so many calls and notes over the past few days from people
in our industry and most importantly, family members saying this
recognition is well-deserved and well-earned. It’s a great
feeling.”
The facility,
previously known as Eden Park of Glens Falls, was purchased a year
ago and is making its transformation into a state-of-the-art health
care center for the Greater Glens Falls area. Remodeled patient
rooms, physical plant upgrades, and a new and expanded physical
therapy gymnasium to accommodate its growing population are just a
few of the changes anticipated at the center.
The Pines at Glens
Falls also recently announced the continuation of it’s joint venture
with Glens Falls Hospital to provide rehabilitation services to its
short-term rehabilitation residents, further ensuring continuity of
care for those recovering from surgery or a medical stay at the
hospital. “This is a great relationship that benefits both patients
at Glens Falls Hospital and The Pines; essentially patients
recovering at The Pines will receive care from therapists following
the same protocols and care plans as their surgeons direct,” stated
Cote.
